Here is the last episode of the Vocal Warm-Up Series: a 15 min vocal warm-up for ALL voices.

Warming up your voice for 15 minutes is an average to get your voice ready before singing.

Depending on where you are with your singing and in your day, you will need to keep warming up your voice a bit before you can really start to sing with ease.

If you haven’t watched the previous episodes, you can start here!

The 15 min Vocal Warm-Up for ALL Voices

This vocal warm-up is a sing along warm-up. If you’d like exercises without my voice so you can hear your own voice better, you can grab my free vocal exercises here: Free Vocal Warm-Up Exercises.

Here is the timing of the exercises so you can skip the explanations the next times:

  • 1:54 Lip trills (lip bubbles)
  • 5:23 Jaw and throat aperture (opening) – Mia Mia Mia
  • 8:43 Major scale on 5 vowels – Mah Meh Mee Moh Moo
  • 12:00 Third interval – On My Mind
  • 16:09 Legato & Staccato – On My Mind

Where you are with your singing

Depending on where you are with your singing, you are going to need more or fewer warm-ups.

Also, if you already know how to do mix voice, you can start practicing without switching too soon in head voice.

But if you are a beginner singer, switch to head voice as soon as it gets tensed.

What is your condition

How much is your body awake? You’ve just woken up? Have you been speaking before the warm-up? Or not…?

Depending on if your body (and voice) is already awake, you are going to need to keep warming up your voice a bit more.

What you are going to sing after warming-up

This is a short singing warm-up so you should choose the first songs you are going to sing carefully.

Start with an “easy” song that is not too difficult for your vocal cords. Also not an uptempo one so you can keep waking up your voice gently while starting to sing.

Even the Greats Warm-Up Their Voice

If you haven’t seen it, here is Christina gently warming up her voice before recording. Inspiring, isn’t it?

So if you take your singing seriously, don’t skip the warm-up!
